Product Rationale :-

• Pachnam Tablet and syrup is a potent digestive and appetite stimulant due to the presence of Plumbago zeylanica (Chitrak), Cyperus rotundus (Nagarmotha), Zingiber officinale (Sunthi) & Picrorhiza kurroa( Kutki)
• Vitis vinifera (Draksha), Punica granatum (Dadim) and Aloe vera (Kumari) activates and stimulates enzyme production required for digestion and assimilation of food
• Pachnam exerts mild bowel cleansing action and helps eliminate toxins due to the presence of Kutki and Kumari

Dosage :-

• Tablets:- 2 Tablets twice daily after meals for a minimum period of 3 months or till the cyclicity is restored or as directed by the physician.
• Syrup:- 10-15 ml twice daily after meals for a minimum period of 3 months or till the cyclicity is restored or as directed by the physician.

Gynova tablets, a polyherbal formulation was studied for its efficacy and safety in menorrhagia & metrorrhagia and the major findings of the trial are as listed below.

Method :-
An open labeled, Multicentric, Non comparative study of Gynova in treatment of menorrhagia and metrorrhagia was conducted on a total of 100 women at 2 centers. Gynova tablets were given at a dosage of 2 tablets twice daily for a period of 3 months.The study was conducted by Dr. Suchitra Pandit, LTM Hospital, Sion, Mumbai and Dr.Kiran Pandey, GSVM medical college and Hospital, Kanpur.

Efficacy was measured in terms of:-

• Passage of clots
• Changes in quantity and duration of bleeding, pain during menstruation using VAS and global assessment.

Results :-
In both cases of Metrorrhagia and Menorrhagia following results were observed.
 

Menorrhagia :-

• 85.5% experienced regular menstrual cycle after the treatment.
• 55% patients relieved of Dysmenorrhoea associated with menorrhagia
• Significant increase in hemoglobin levels
• Duration of bleeding reduced from 6.97 days to 3.92 days on an average.

Metrorrhagia :-

• 77.8% experienced regular cycle after treatment.
• Reduction in passage of clots
• Duration of bleeding reduced from 10.4 days to 4.06 days on an average.
• Normal cycle was restored in 85.5% of cases
• No adverse event noted in both categories.
