  1. Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) :- Proven adaptogenic and aphrodisiac herb.
It infuses fresh energy and vigour in a worn-out system, due to any disease or from overwork and thus prevents premature ejaculation. Powder of the root mixed with ghee and honey in equal parts is recommended for impotence or low sperm count and motility.
    (Nadkarni, Indian Materia Medica, Vol 1, p. 1293, 2000).

Withania somnifera (WS) Dunal is classified in Ayurveda, the ancient Hindu system of medicine, as a rasayana, a group of plant-derived drugs reputed to promote physical and mental health, augment resistance of the body against disease and diverse adverse environmental factors. A study performed to study antistress activity in rats produced results which verify antistress adaptogenic activity, confirming the clinical use of the plant in Ayurveda.

  3. Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) :- Proven spermatogenic and aphrodisiac.
The weight gain and improvement in sexual behavior parameters observed in rats could be secondary to the androgen increasing property of Tribulus terrestris protodioscin (PTN) .The increase in intracavernous pressure (ICP) which confirms the pro erectile aphrodisiac property of Tribulus terrestris could possibly be the result of an increase in androgen and subsequent release of nitric oxide from the nerve endings innervating the corpus cavernosa.

  4. Jaiphal (Myristica fragrans) :- Proven herb to curb premature ejaculation
The resultant significant and sustained increase in the sexual activity of normal male rats without any conspicuous adverse effects indicates that the 50% ethanolic extract of nutmeg possesses aphrodisiac activity, increasing both libido and potency, which might be attributed to its nervous stimulating property. The present study thus provides a scientific rationale for the traditional use of nutmeg in the management of male sexual disorders.
