- Upper respiratory tract illness :-
The term URTI is used to describe acute infections of nose, paranasal sinuses, trachea (wind pipe), larynx (voice box), pharynx and bronchi.
The common causes of URTI are :-
- Change of season, especially during cold weather
- Low immunity status
- Hyper sensitivity to allergens
- Viral infections
Symptoms :-
- Cough
- Running nose
- Nasal congestion
- Sneezing
- Sore throat
- Fever
- Body ache
- Loss of appetite
- Sometimes wheeze maybe present
Ayurvedic management / Adjuvant therapy :- Encof syrup and / or Encof lozenges
Dietary regimen :-
- Prefer warm and easily digestible food like soups and khichdi
- Drink a lot of warm water
- Increase fruit intake
- Avoid alcohol or tobacco
